Over the last decade, Ty Mares has become a mainstay all along the Jersey Shore as an original solo artist as well as frontman and guitarist for jam sensation Cosmic Jerry Band.

Originally from Denver, Colo., Mares was raised in a military family, and attributes his worldliness, adaptability and work ethic to the constant traveling he did growing up.

Whether they be originals or spirited tributes, Mares makes each tune his own, spanning every genre from R&B to pop, as well as a vast array of rock ’n’ roll, all wrapped up in the journey of jam.

A sophisticated guitarist, Mares is known for his illustrative blues solos, characterized by colorful chord progressions. His rhythmic style and swoon-worthy vocals, accompanied by Tommy Allen Jr.’s impeccable backbeat and stellar harmonies, are just icing on the cake.

Mares’ major influences growing up included John Mayer, Coldplay and the 1975. B.B. King, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Jerry Garcia would later become massive inspirations for him.

From the age of 13, Mares has studied under principal pianists and jazz guitarists before spending some time studying at Berklee College of Music. No amount of study, however, compares to the time he has spent improvising on stage, fulfilling the role of Jerry in the Cosmic Jerry Band.

His improvisations turn every show into a choose-your-own-adventure. Listeners can expect a high energy performance that allows them to kick back and vibe or dance the night away.
